This winter we are sitting in a topical sermon series asking the question “Can God?” Asking questions like… If you’ve missed church you can listen to our “Can God?” series here.
Can God speak today?
Can God still send prophets?
Can God really heal our bodies?
Can God use us?
Can God forgive?
Can God heal us from our past trauma?
Can God break curses and demonic power that are over our life?
Can God help us break out of addiction?
All of these questions point back to the issues of the immanance of God. That is that God is near, He is real, He is right in the middle of the situation we find ourselves in. We don’t have to just try and live out a set of great principles and theories laid out in the Bible, but the Bible’s story of a God who step’s in our mess, becomes our story!
As we continue in this series I want you to pray.
That God would remove the blinders from your eyes. Some of us grew up in traditions that nulify the word of God. (Mark 7:13). Teaching us that God is no longer doing what He use to do, but He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. (Hebrews 13:8) Instead we see that the miraculous gifts of God are to continue till we see Jesus face to face and there won’t be any need for healing, or revealing secrets or anything like that because we will know as are are fully known! (1 Corinthians 13) Ask God that you would see what He is able to do!
That your friendship with God would be real, that you would not simply be trying to check of a list of religous duty’s but there would be a fresh and deep intimacy with the Lord, knowing He is right here with us. (John 15:15)
That you might discover and develop the spiritual gifts that God has given you! If you’ve never done it before we are asking you to step out in faith and pray for the gifts that God promised to give us. Pray for prophecy, pray for healing, pray for tounges, pray to be used by God in generosity, in creativity, in planning, in leadership, in evangelism, in teaching, in organizing. Pray that you would learn, the unique way God wants you to serve and build up His Church, and pray that you would recieve the blessings of those around you filled and led by His Spirit.
