Being a mom is a full-time ministry.
Between diapers, school runs, meal prep, endless laundry, and heart-to-heart talks that rarely come at convenient hours, it can feel nearly impossible to carve out time for prayer.
But the beauty of the gospel is God doesn’t demand perfection He offers grace.
Prayer doesn’t have to be long or eloquent. It can be whispered while folding laundry, breathed out during a midnight feeding, or quietly spoken over a sink full of dishes. These simple moments become sacred when we offer them to Him. They are moments of connection, peace, and strength, a lifeline, not a burden.
I have found solace in the small pockets of silence in my day. Beginning with thanksgiving; even before my feet hit the floor. A moment to invite the Lord & his presence into whatever the day holds quietly sitting at the end of my bed preparing to start the day. During nap time or at night, gathering with the kids getting into our bible stories and ending with prayers that bring us closer in many ways before tucking them into bed. These rhythms shape our hearts to what matters most.
As Deuteronomy 6:5–9 says:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
This is the calling and invitation to weave love and truth into everyday moments.
And while the day may be full, look for those small pocket of silence even just a few minutes to be still, to breathe, and to connect with the Father. In that silence, abide. Let Him meet you there, refreshing your soul.
John 15:4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”
Instead of carrying guilt over what you’re not doing, embrace mercy for what you can. God meets you right where you are—in the chaos, in the quiet, and in every in between moment. His presence isn’t confined to a prayer closet; it fills your whole life.
Romans 8:26-27
“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”
Let prayer be a rhythm, not a ritual.
A whispered thanks. A cry for help. A bedtime blessing. A silent surrender.
Every moment becomes holy when offered to Him.
